TPL welcomes Sweden's first Regional BEV truck
We continue our sustainability journey and welcome Sweden's first Regional BEV to our distribution network!
The BEV truck (Battery Electric Vehicle) from Scania is specifically designed for regional long-distance transport and has an extensive capacity compared with previous models of electric vehicles. The new feature of the truck is its power levels with a battery capacity of up to 624 kWh. This means that a heavy carriage can drive up to 250 km before needing to be charge, and entirely without carbon dioxide emissions.
– The new vehicle is proof of how we are involved in driving the electric development as well as our continued work with emission-free transport solutions for our customers, says Fredrik Throzell, Transport & Sustainability Development Manager at PostNord TPL.
The truck will do distribution for our customer BAUHAUS and will be loaded with goods from our warehouse in Norrköping, Region East.
– Expanding the emission-free transport solutions is part of our internal sustainability efforts. This addition to our overall distribution setup from the central warehouse aligns with our plan, says Minna Lundberg, Transport Procurement Manager at BAUHAUS.
The BEV truck is part of our partner LBC Frakt's vehicle fleet. The truck is the first in a series of 8-10 vehicles that will be used in various customer assignments.
