Logistics is an important part of the customer experience

In August 2024, PostNord TPL and Stadium Online set a record for the lowest cost per order line. With an efficiency improvement of more than 40% since 2019, costs have not only been reduced, but according to the latest customer surveys, customers are more satisfied than ever. This is a clear example of how a good and close collaboration can overcome significant challenges.

It was in early 2020 that the automation for Stadium Online was scheduled to go live. At the same time, the pandemic broke out, and global borders were closed, resulting in the automation solution having to be implemented without the automation manufacturer on-site.

– In the beginning, it felt like we had an advanced solution, without really knowing how to fully utilize it. For an automation solution to serve its purpose of optimizing and cost-efficiently managing logistics, it is crucial to understand how to optimize the technology, handle volumes, and create smooth processes. Our collaboration with TPL has proven how, together, through a flexible approach, we can adapt to challenges and maximize an efficient supply chain, says Daniel Johansson, Supply Chain Director at Stadium.

Without the right knowledge and expertise, an automation solution can become costly, Daniel Johansson explains. But since the automation was implemented, TPL and Stadium have together managed to reduce the cost per order line by over 40%, reaching a new record low. At the same time, customer satisfaction has reached new heights – customers have never been more satisfied, according to the latest customer surveys. How quickly a product is delivered after an order is placed is crucial for creating a positive customer experience.

– Despite the high demand ahead of the back-to-school season in August, we delivered our best performance yet, while our customers experienced the highest satisfaction ever. Thanks to our collaboration with PostNord TPL, we can now offer faster deliveries, thereby meeting customer expectations in a whole new way. For our online business, logistics is important in the actual customer interaction; if we don't get logistics right, we don't have satisfied customers, explains Daniel.
