Customs Clearance
Does your company trade in goods to or from non-EU countries? We offer the widest range of customs services in the market. Our expertise and our well-developed systems and processes will safeguard every aspect of your customs clearance. As a PostNord TPL customer, you will benefit from a minimal risk of disruptions to your supply chain and be guaranteed a smoother experience.
Imports
PostNord TPL has many years of practical experience handling imports and can assist you with import declarations from non-EU countries. Our customs data system receives daily updates regarding the EU’s common nomenclature and customs tariff, which ensures that correct customs duties and exchange rates are applied. We are well-versed in every chapter of the tariff and have extensive experience of importing goods with special regulations such as organic products, foodstuffs, alcoholic beverages, garments and shoes.
Exports
As regards exports, PostNord TPL can provide you with the customs documentation required to trade outside the EU. We stay updated on trade regulations to ensure compliance with laws and regulations as well as preferential treatment. We also handle customs documentation between Sweden and Norway for both imports and exports.
Permits and certificates
PostNord TPL holds AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status for both customs simplification (AEOC) and security and safety (AEOS), which means that we are fully certified and collaborate closely with customs authorities to ensure that the supply chain is entitled to benefits across the EU. PostNord TPL’s transit system has been approved for NCTS Phase 5, and we are also an Approved Shipper as well as an Approved Consignee. As a TPL customer, you can have full confidence in our quality-assured procedures as we hold the required statutory certificates and permits for secure and safe customs clearance.
We make customs clearance simple
PostNord TPL’s Nordic offering enables end-to-end customs clearance solutions. We help you navigate trade regulations, calculate customs duties and identify which free trade agreements you can benefit from. At TPL, you will find knowledgeable customs administrators and specialists who can assist with customs clearance if you are trading internationally. We hold AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status, which guarantees a smooth and efficient customs process. Our NCTS 5 transit system enables us to perform seamless transits as we are an Approved Shipper as well as an Approved Consignee.
In addition, PostNord TPL has extensive experience of imports from and exports to countries within and outside the EU, and we can also assist with customs documentation if you export to or import from Norway. TPL offers customs warehousing, a beneficial procedure for customers that re-export to third countries as it reduces tied-up capital and increases profitability at the same time. As a TPL customer, you benefit from our customs simplifications and can have full confidence in our quality-assured procedures.
Bonded Warehousing
PostNord TPL specializes in bonded warehousing. Our certificates in the national customs system ensure that our customers benefit from a smooth and efficient clearance process. Bonded warehousing is an opportunity to increase the profitability of imported goods as fees in the form of customs duties and taxes can be deferred until the goods are used or re-exported to a third country. TPL provides system support for item-based customs warehousing with full traceability that complies with the requirements of Swedish Customs for accounting, reporting and inventory. This will reduce your tied-up capital and increase your profitability.
NCTS simplifies and streamlines the customs process
What is NCTS?
Transit is a customs procedure that allows you to transport goods through one or more countries without paying customs duties or taxes. NCTS is an electronic platform that simplifies and automates the process. The system also ensures that traders comply with applicable customs rules and regulations when transiting goods. The goal of the NCTS system is to increase efficiency and reduce paperwork by automating and simplifying the customs process for transiting goods. NCTS Phase 5 is an update of the NCTS system, and as of January 2024 companies that offer and manage customs services must be approved for NCTS Phase 5.
Why PostNord TPL?
PostNord TPL has extensive experience with the transit procedure, and as both an Approved Shipper and an Approved Consignee for NCTS Phase 5, we can transit goods for our customers seamlessly. In addition, we set (very) high standards for our delivery procedures to safeguard the logistics flows of our customers and avoid unnecessary costs. Many of them import from third countries, and our customs clearance experience enables us to simplify and streamline their customs processes. When exporting to Norway, we can transit untaxed goods to avoid double customs duties and taxes in both the EU and Norway. It is a beneficial procedure for customers that trade in dutiable goods, mainly in the garment sector.
